Hello all, here's my submission. I was going to try Bach/Marcello, but decided Ornstein would be better for now, as I ended up playing the piece a lot to test out a new mic setup (stereo mic placement is a big time sink, haha). It's his Piano Sonata No. 4, Mvt. II, Semplice. The performance is not perfect, but I thought it shareable!

Marc M I’m SO psyched to discover more of his works.  Gorgeous playing!

    • Marc M I was able to get a copy of that CD with recordings of some of his works played by M.-A. H. that you were mentioning! 😁

Thanks Gail Starr! On a tangent, I saw your comment in the other thread regarding blocking your husband in with mic stands. I can't use mic stands either because of little kids, so I'm using 2 clamps. Note, though, they pick up vibrations from the piano frame, so I glued on some homemade felt-plus-rubbery-anti-slip-tape pads, which solved that issue. Furniture pads would probably also work.

Alexander Weymann Exciting--I look forward to hearing you play your favorites for some future challenge! Haha.

  • Here is my work in progress submission for Chopin's Nocturne op 48 no 1 in C Minor! I started this piece in July and have been on and off practicing it, but in the last month tried to pick it up again and polishing it for a concert in a few months.

I am open to any feedback, criticism, and suggestions. With my teacher I am still working on the voicing in the ending of the doppio mvmt section mainly, and the poco piu lento section in C major.
