    • Dominic Cheli hi Dominic, hi everyone,

Sorry . I couldn't open a new link to post this so i hope it's ok to reach you like this.

I have done a recording of the Chopin nocturne no 1 from op 9 and am preparing to submit it to a small Chopin competition,

Would wondering if you could take a look at it and perhaps give me some tips to improve it?

      Thanks a bunch.

  • Hi everybody,

Perhaps someone has a tip for me how to handle such a situation.

How do you deal with parents, students or people who are thinking that if a 9 years old can play the complete work of the Mephisto waltz / la Campanella/ un sospiro / Fantasie impromptu/ fill in the blanks...., it means that he can play better than the teacher who plays the same pieces but the teacher is already 50 years old??

Sooner or later,  that kid and his family begins to think that they are the top dog of the town and even soneone like dominic is not good enough to teach this kid because Dominic can surely play all those virtuous piece but he aint lang lang or someone.

I don't know how to change that naive mentality and the parents are pushing these kids to become what i call - stage clowns. They don't gave the experience yet but they think they can do it better just because they hit every note correctly.

    Please advise... I'm fed up.

    Thank you so much....
