Fingering help for Standchen (Schubert/Liszt)

Hi everyone on Tonebase. I need help with the fingerings for the (I'm not sure how to call these) ascending and descending G minor and G Major thirds in the above two sections in the Liszt transcript for Standchen.

I can play this piece fairly well, it's just that until now I can't find a good set of fingerings to go for these 2 sections and it's the only area where I'm really stuck with this piece. It'll be great if someone can suggest fingerings for these two sections?

  • Edmund see the pic below. 2/1 for measure before. Then 3/1, 4/2, 2/1, 3/2, 5/3, 3/2, 2/1, 4/2, 3/1. I use the same for both sections.

    • Vidhya Bashyam Thank you from me too.  One of my weekend pleasures is to alternate bewteen the Schubert lied accompaniment in C minor, most of which is playable for me, and the Liszt transcription in D minor, which is so lovely but more of a challenge, of course.

Just tried it. It's actually similar to what I use except I use 3/5 instead of 2/4.

I think what I really need help with is tension and clarity when I play the descending part of these 3rds.

Gonna force myself to do slow practice. =D
