It seems that there is no melody, different types of chord quality, and the ii V I progression that moves the music forward. Also hang onto in a modal scale so the modal scale ends up sounding like your are practicing scales and also one loses interest because the music rambles because once again there is nothing to hang onto as far as melody , different types of chords, etc.
