I am doing the complete op 54 (Book V) for the challenge. Here are the first two pieces, Gjetergutt/Shepherd's Boy and Gangar/Norwegian March.

Jennifer Mehta Thank you so much! Yes, it鈥檚 fascinating how different all the pieces in this opus are from each other. A common thread would have to be nature and Grieg鈥檚 color pallets.

Hi everyone, didn鈥檛 get as much time to prepare as I鈥檇 hoped but here are two pieces I like a lot: Melody and Elegie from Op.47. I think both are slightly melancholic and reflective but in quite different ways.

Derek McConville beautiful pieces, both of them new to me; the Elegie is particularly fascinating with its aching, unresolved harmonies. I think you bring out the character of this music very well with your gentle, sensitive playing.

Derek McConville Beautiful, sensitive playing, Derek. The first piece sounded like there were afterthoughts in the music - a statement would be made and then the music went, "Oh, and maybe I could say this, too..." It was interesting to hear that expressed in your playing/interpretation. I found the second piece intriguing, but couldn't quite grasp what I thought of it. I'll have to listen to it again, later. Thanks for sharing your wonderful playing.

Derek McConville I learned Melody some years ago--it's a great piece. A little tricky to manage the melody during the climax, with that awkwardly placed little trill. Sounding good overall! And the Elegie was refreshing. Thanks!

Derek McConville Gorgeous phrasing! You do a great job of leading the listener through the cool interior voices and surprising cadences. I love both of these gems.
