  • Hi everyone!  Here is the link to me practicing the last 27. Measures of Gade.  Something funky happened at the fz measure, but this is practicing, right???   Hhahaha.

    https://youtu.be/foE1s0udX-Q

I am making an attempt to learn all 4 that caught my ear.

Arietta, because it鈥檚 pretty and delicate.

Spring Dance, because I like it.

Gabe, because I like it, all the chord changes, and interplay of the melody between R and L hands.

Summer Evening.  It is different than what I normally would choose, and intrigues me.

So, stay tuned for more practice videos of the above.

Jennifer Mehta Thanks for sharing. Again,it's my first time of hearing this. The way you played it, seems so relaxing and easy.

    • Sam Smith I think you are wise in choosing a tempo that you can play.  Otherwise there are mistakes and you get quite frustrated.  I look forward to hearing yours when you are ready!  This one is beautiful no matter the tempo 馃槉

    • Sindre Skarelven really stunning! "Gjetergutt" is rendered so unhurriedly and steeped in a sad, wistful atmosphere. The "Gangar" has rhythmic drive and is joyful and nicely differentiated in its sonorities (and played impressively cleanly, too!). Very well done and a joy to listen to.

    • Gail Starr Thank you so much, Gail! I'm glad you would like a recording!!  I've not thought about that, but I have thought of creating a recital with these pieces. Maybe adding in one more book of lyrical pieces, or something other fitting. 鈾ワ笍

Gail Starr Sindre Skarelven I agree with Gail - I'd buy a professional recording, too! I've thought for a while we should create a "Best of ToneBase" compilation. I can think of several people's playing I'd enjoy listening to when I'm away from my computer!
