Meet and Greet
Hi everyone,
Noah and Dominic here!
We’re so excited to start welcoming everyone to this year’s Adamant Piano Camp.
Whether you’re already signed up, seriously considering joining us, or just curious about what the experience is like, we’d love for this thread to be a place to connect, ask questions, and start building excitement for the summer ahead.
Adamant is a really special place. Incredible music-making, lots of practice, inspiring conversations, late-night performances, nature, community, and a chance to fully immerse yourself in music for an extended period of time.
We honestly can’t wait for everything coming up.
A few things we’d love to hear from you:
- What pieces are you currently working on?
- What are you most excited about this summer?
- Have you been to Adamant before?
- Any questions about the experience, schedule, lodging, practicing, repertoire, or anything else?
And even if you just want to say hello and introduce yourself, please do!
We’ll also be sharing updates, announcements, practice inspiration, and more here as we get closer.
Can’t wait to see this year’s community come together!

For those of you who have been to Adamant before, do you know if the beds in the cabins are twin size, or twin size XL? Thanks!

Hello. Introducing myself. I'll be at both 1st and 2nd sessions. I spend almost every day with pianos ... as a professional piano technician. Finding time to actually practice and play is always a frustrating challenge. So ten days with no tuning demands on my schedule is a dream come true. I am also moving out of my comfort zone with this upcoming opportunity and yet I know I will be inspired by everyone there. I am working on A Beethoven sonata (G major, No 10), some Scarlatti (f minor, k466. b minor k27. A major, k208), and the second movement of the Shostakovich Opus 102 piano concerto. And hoping to get direction on starting some Bach and Rachmaninoff. I recognize I have a tendency to over-fill my plate vs what is realistic.
I live on the coast of Maine so I will be driving west to Adamant (a 4 and 1/2 hour drive). This is my first time at the Adamant Music School. I'm very excited.

Hi all,
First time at Adamant for me and I am very excited!
1. The pieces I’m bringing/been working on are Schumann Von Fremden and Träumeri, Bach d minor 2 part invention, Debussy Prelude #1, and Chopin c# minor nocturne ( been learning with the tracks on tonebase)
2.I am a former professional musician in the pop rock world, and have only started seriously studying for the last couple of years. I’m most looking forward to getting with these brilliant instructors and some direction on my practice and performance, and some feedback on what I’ve done for the last year or two. I have not been taking lessons, everything I’ve been doing has been on my own.
3. I have not been to Adamant, or any kind of music camp before…A little nervous, but very excited!
4. I am in session number one…Really looking forward to meeting everyone next week.

Hi everyone!
I will be attending the first session next week. Very excited!
I am currently working on Bach Partita no. 2 (C Minor); Scriabin Op. 16 Preludes; Schubert Impromptu D935 no. 3 (B-flat); Chopin Ballades 1 and 3 (the latter seems quite popular with this thread). I played a lot of 4-hands/2-piano when I was younger and would be interested to do more.
I live in Houston and practice daily, though have been lesson-less for a long time. Randomly, I will be in Atlanta next weekend and may have occasion to see Adam Ant (of MTV fame) live before travelling to what I imagine must be his namesake music academy :-).

I am so excited to be part of this group of piano nerds - my first time at Adamant. I have lived near Asheville, North Carolina, for almost 50 years, but grew up in upstate NY and spent many summers in the Adirondacks, so it will be a little like coming home.
I hope there are some amateurs like me in the group. Right now am working on Ravel's "Forlane" from Le Tombeau de Couperin, Chopin's Mazurka in F sharp minor, Op 59, No. 3, Bartok's Dance in Bulgarian Rhythm (the last piece in Mikrokosmos), and the Bach-Marcello Adagio. Some of these pieces I have worked on for decades with multiple teachers, so I am hoping to have someone show me at last how to master the trickiest passages. BTW, I am a career educator and therefore very comfortable with lost causes. 😅
I have two pianos - for a number of years I had a regular duet partner but haven't had a chance to play duets since COVID. I am especially looking forward to some duet playing. I am attending the last part of week 1 (arriving Thursday) and staying on for all of week 2.

Hi everyone!
So excited to join you all at Adamant for my first time! I’m attending the first session and really looking forward to a week of non-stop piano and meeting new friends.
A little background on me: I’m a "recovering" amateur pianist. I played growing up, took a 15-year break, and finally came back to the keys at the beginning of last year. Currently, I’m working on Mozart’s Sonata in G Major (K. 283) and Bach’s Prelude & Fugue in A-flat Major (WTC 1), plus a short Brahms waltz I just started reading for fun. I'd also like to polish Debussy’s 1st Arabesque and Rachmaninoff’s G minor Prelude if there's time for them at camp!
I'm mostly just excited to immerse myself in music for a week without everyday life distractions, get fresh perspectives in lessons, and hopefully find someone to sightread/collab on duets.
