Which composer do you feel most "at home" with?

Which composer do you feel most comfortable with?

A lot of times we talk about our favorite composers, or most difficult music to play, but which composer always seems to bring you comfort and just "connects" with you?

  • Bach, Beethoven and Chopin. It’s hard to put into word why I like them but their music touches me at a very deep level.

I have just met Scarlatti and his music really hits me in a good way. Love him. There are so many great composers, I'd love to find some not on the list for standard repertoire as well.

  • For me - Bach, Rachmaninoff and Chopin. With Debussy in there, too. Always returning to these. But who would I live without, including so many more?

  • Hard to choose ! Lol! I like several of them! Because each of them brings me a certain joy! But if I had to choose one of them all, I will choose Eric Satie, in  second place Chopin, and third place Bach. Satie for the greatness of his musical minimalism, Chopin for his romanticism wich reach me to my soul and Bach for his intensity, his genius and the pleasure of the fingers for the pianist that I am playing his music.

Has to be Chopin. My teacher recently told me to pick a piece for a recital and play my strengths. I realized I had to pick Chopin. Not only the musicality but the way the hands work has always felt intuitive to me.
