Which composer do you feel most "at home" with?

Which composer do you feel most comfortable with?

A lot of times we talk about our favorite composers, or most difficult music to play, but which composer always seems to bring you comfort and just "connects" with you?

Playing Chopin always feels like coming home. No matter what I am working on, I can’t stay away too long from Chopin. Schubert is pretty close behind.

Bach, Beethoven and Chopin. It’s hard to put into word why I like them but their music touches me at a very deep level.

I have just met Scarlatti and his music really hits me in a good way. Love him. There are so many great composers, I'd love to find some not on the list for standard repertoire as well.

For me - Bach, Rachmaninoff and Chopin. With Debussy in there, too. Always returning to these. But who would I live without, including so many more?

Hard to choose ! Lol! I like several of them! Because each of them brings me a certain joy! But if I had to choose one of them all, I will choose Eric Satie, in  second place Chopin, and third place Bach. Satie for the greatness of his musical minimalism, Chopin for his romanticism wich reach me to my soul and Bach for his intensity, his genius and the pleasure of the fingers for the pianist that I am playing his music.

Has to be Chopin. My teacher recently told me to pick a piece for a recital and play my strengths. I realized I had to pick Chopin. Not only the musicality but the way the hands work has always felt intuitive to me.

Beethoven is my favorite. The most difficult music to play for me is anything that requires to play more than an octave with one hand. I have small hands.

I'll be the most basic pianist and say Chopin.

I think you know this, but Schubert to me always feels like home. I love so many composers, but I feel a comfort and closeness with him I don't feel with any other. ❤️

Bach, without question. He offers the perfect interweaving of intellect and emotion, technique and expression, architecture and art. And as a huge bonus, there are riches to mine at every level of pianistic ability: the easy pieces are not trivial and the intermediate pieces are not simplistic.

    Chopin and Bach.

Chopin's works are my favorite. Lately, I feel that after immerging deep in "romantic mood," I would search for a retreat...Bach.

Chopin, Rachmaninov and Ravel.  Chopin and Rachmaninov because they wear their hearts on their sleeves.  Ravel because there’s a certain genteel refinement in the music, combined with lush harmonies that I just love.

me too. In the case of Rachmaninoff people believes it is the soundtrack of a film
