Hope to attend but can at least send a video.  I think I'll be able to extract something from my WTC perambulations by then.  either Bk 1 C Major, Bk 2 B Minor, or Bk 2 F major.

  • Yihan: Prokofiev Toccata op.11.  I will submit a recording.  I wish it's on Saturday, so he can perform live, but normally this is his school hour :-)

    • Derek McConville Very exciting! I've only ever heard music composed by any of her many students.

    • Alexander Weymann thank you. Her sister Nadia was a famous teacher and also composed a bit. Hoping to upload one or two pieces by next Friday!

    • Derek McConville oh, that’s who I was thinking about, of course - Nadia Boulanger. But I did know that Nadia’s sister, Lili, was a gifted composer, even though I have never heard anything written by her either.

I'd like to submit a few shorter Scriabin preludes...here they are, with some notes! https://youtu.be/m804aa5steE?si=kxNnhotYuRkm59DP

Will try to attend, but I may only be able to stay for the first ~20 mins due to Good Friday business. :)

(if time constraint is an issue, feel free to use fewer than all 4)

I’ve changed my mind!  I’ll be doing another piece by Yahn Tierson:, instead of Pern I’d like to do Enez Nein.  I’d like to do this live!

Gail Starr Gail - my daughter recently introduced me to a woman composer (the same genre as Yahn Tiersen, Delange and Ola Gjeilo.  Her name is Alexandra Streliski and I’m really enjoying her.  I feel some reticence in sharing this but I’m doing two online informal piano performances and I’m including Streliski, Tierson and Delange on April 7 , 3 pm pst and April 13 at 12 pm pst. I can send links if curious.  Such gorgeous Beethoven today!  I love the clarity and sparkle of your tone and the joy of your connection to the music!
