ABOUT TONEBASE COMMUNITY CONCERTS:
These events are NOT live-streamed OR recorded, but are private zoom meetings where tonebase members can share their hard work and perform for each other!
These concerts can be played LIVE, or if you can't attend, you can submit a recording!
This is a GENEROUS and SUPPORTIVE space.
Performing is one of the best ways to push yourself, and really evaluate the work/progress you have made!
Repertoire is open to any piece!
Memorization is NOT required.
You can play select movements, or even sections of pieces! No need to perform a complete work!
Playing the piano is fun, but sharing your music with others is one of life's great joys. Join in on the fun and cheer each other on!

Dear Vickie horowitz , I'm Letizia Ferrari: the person who sent the video of Fantasia in D minor a few weeks ago. I am not a narcissistic person and I have built a very strong self-esteem. So I won't feel offended that someone else is playing the piece I chose. I believe in a world where everyone can express freely, respecting others. On social media I have a project in which I show some ideas to those who can't find the words to defend themselves from bullies. Your interpretation is completely free of inaccuracies, while mine has several... you did a good job! My upright piano is currently too much out of tune, and I can't record new videos. The Tonebase community will be happy to express appreciation for both versions!

Letizia hi Litizia! thanks for your reply. I just knew in some recitals repeats are discouraged so I thought i would offer to defer ;- ). I enjoyed your interpretation! So passionate! There ate so many ways to interpret the piece and mine changes constantly. I am now experimenting with a super soft, dresmy opening. Have you listened to Mitsuko Uchida's interpretation? She changed the ending by breturning to arpeggios similar to the opening. since Mozart didn't actually write the ending I understand we are free to play with it. Thos is the first Mozart I have played since I was a kid and I have really enjoyed it.

Vickie horowitz I found really interesting the masterclass about Fantasy in D minor here on Tonebase by Seymour Bernstein with Ben Laude, and some other courses here. Ben well explained the topic of cadenza in this piece and how many pianists play the final. I decided to record a version without extra personal touches, but I'm definitely going to add some impro and stylistic choices during my private study sessions.

I hope I’m still in time to participate in the spring recital. Here is the link to Schumann’s Mignon (Op. 68, No. 35) from Part II of the Album for Youth. It’s still a work in progress, but I’ve really enjoyed trying to learn it in time for this concert. (Apologies for glitchy video quality!)

Gail Starr thanks very much Gail. I think I've got it all set up on YouTube & will post below. I'm going to to with the F Major from Book II of the WTC. I feel like I've been talking about it forever, but have never felt that it was ready. But at some point you have to commit to performing it, and this is the perfect place to put it out there in a supportive environment.
