Question about Chopin Nocturne op15 no 2

Hi, Can anyone tell me in Chopin Nocturne Op 15 no 2 doppio movimento section 1st bar. Where exactly should the chord be played in the left hand? Does it come before the first D in the right hand or should it be played with it? Score attached. 🤔

Sorry I should have said D sharp.

  • Hazel By note distribution, the LH chord mentioned will be between the 3rd and 4th note (between B and D#), however, I would pay more attention to RH melody instead of how to fit in LH chords. Hope it helps.

Thank you for the information and your advice. That’s a great help to me. 😊

  • Yes, technically it should be after B and before the D-sharp as Heng-Pin Chen  said. Chopin wants this section to feel rhythmically fluid and ambiguous so I would not be too obsessed with placing the chord EXACTLY!

Ok, thanks.  I watched your masterclass on this nocturne from last year and found it very helpful. Thanks again for all that you do.
