ABOUT TONEBASE COMMUNITY CONCERTS:

These events are NOT live-streamed OR recorded, but are private zoom meetings where tonebase members can share their hard work and perform for each other!

These concerts can be played LIVE, or if you can't attend, you can submit a recording!

This is a GENEROUS and SUPPORTIVE space.

Performing is one of the best ways to push yourself, and really evaluate the work/progress you have made!

Repertoire is open to any piece!

Memorization is NOT required.

You can play select movements, or even sections of pieces! No need to perform a complete work!

Playing the piano is fun, but sharing your music with others is one of life's great joys. Join in on the fun and cheer each other on!

HI Dominic, I would like to participate in this concert. Is there enough time for an entire Mozart Sonata without repeats? I'm thrilled to play one movement, too!  I would like to make my final selection a week or two before the concert, after having a better idea of the available time. Thanks for organizing these!

Hi Dominic,  I will like to participate, I hope I will, and put my nervous system in shape for this performance. Actully I study Etude No 14 in F minor. I can plya it without the score, but I don't play it fast like it's suppose to be play. If I can't play it fast as it is , I will play Sonata Op 49 no 2 in G major, Beethoven without the repetition, if it's ok. If I am not ready to play one of those two pieces I will choose another piece of music, I will see until then. It's in two months, so I have time to choose. I also study the Sinfonia no 15 , Bach, and Nocturne Op 50 no 1, Chopin....and the Mazurka op 30 no 1, Chopin...I will see until then.

    • Dominic Cheli It will be the C-minor Mazurka, op. 56 No 3 (about 6 min) Like Priya I would also like to be scheduled early because of the European time zone. Thanks!

Hi Dominic, I will play the Brahms Intermezzo in A, Op. 118 No. 2 (thanks to YOU for the inspiration!) However, the recital is at 2am my time in Australia so I will submit a recording 😊

  • Hi Dominic, I began learning the piano two years ago and I am quite exited to join a community concert for the first time. I would like to play Bach Inventions in D minor and Beethoven Bagatelle in G. I will submit a recording as this event takes place at 11PM where I live.

  • Well, since I did the first one today and I'm now officially addicted, is there room for one more piece? I'd like to perform Schubert impromptu in Gb Major Op. 90, D. 899. Thanks, Dominic.

  • I'll jump in since the slots are filling up fast now... 😉 If there's still room/time, I'd love to play "Evocación" from "Iberia" by Albéniz. I had worked on this for our Spanish challenge but didn't quite finish it at the time.

Update (Sep 21): I'm now leaning towards a different piece but haven't quite committed yet. I'll take the weekend to decide. At any rate, this one would be shorter than the Albéniz, about 3-4 minutes.

Dominic Cheli Last update (Sep 28): for the last couple of weeks, I have been so busy at my day job that I have found barely any time at the end of each long day for practicing the piano. Sadly, I won't be able to play at this recital. However, I am very much looking forward to listening to everyone else's beautiful music!

If there is room for one more, I'd love to participate.  I just started the Chopin Nocturne in c# minor (the one Sandy played so beautifully today), so I'll give that a go.

  • I’d like to play, too, if there’s room. Perhaps a Ukrainian folk song or two?

  • Hi Dominic, if there is space, I would like to play the Chopin Nocturne Op.55 in F minor! Thank you Derek

  • Dominic, it looks like I've overbooked myself for the next few months (typical of me) so I am hereby kindly withdrawing from this concert as well as the Halloween one. Thanks so much for these opportunities. I'm in a six-month intensive film scoring course that just began, and I think I will have to wait until spring 2024 before I can play live here again. I will try to show up and support the participants anyway!

Hey Dominic, hope you are well 🙂 I am not sure if I will have enough time to do a recording of the Brahms Intermezzo for the recital as promised. I have many repertoire to get through for work at the moment and haven't got a chance to sit down to record my Brahms properly yet. I have also been spending most of my time on my cello when not practicing work repertoire on the piano too! I will try my best to record this week, otherwise I might have to give this one a miss!

HI Dominic, Should we sign in a few minutes ahead of time to test our audio? For the moment, I'm waiting to be let in.
