No I haven鈥檛, and from what I鈥檝e seen, his playinthezone.com website is super hype, which is why, I suppose, you鈥檙e asking here. I am not tempted by his rhetoric, preferring to rely on Dominic鈥檚 advice on memorizing. It鈥檚 hard work, but memorizing gets easier with practice.

  • I have taken many of Mark鈥檚 courses and have found all very useful. His approach to teaching offers various options for a variety of learning styles, and his course on memorisation is no different. He brings a diversified background of both academic and personal experience to his lessons (see: playinthezone.com/about/). With regard to the course on memory specifically, he encourages three ways of insuring you can encode and retain your learning. It is not facile and requires diligence and focus, but works. I highly recommend his courses, his approach appealing to different ways of learning and his lesson plans and worksheets that accompany this and all his courses, not just a video and words. This is guidance with feedback on your progress. I hope this helps鈥攎emorisation can be a frustrating journey and every approach needs consideration.

    • I have taken many of mark's courses and the one on memory changed my playing - I have been playing piano for 70 years and finally I CAN MEMORIZE PIECES.

I highly recommend Marks Memory course and more

Thank you Mari and Richard for so generously sharing your experience. I am returning to serious training after a 50 year hiatus and am trying to memorize during the eraly days of score reading as I am first studying the music. I will look into this method to help me. It's very hard to discern the efficacy of a program by its advertising. Great to have a Tonebase forum to ask others!
