  It can be helpful to see their fingerings and technique. I have done courses where they don't really say which fingering they use for something and never show, either.

  Fingerings are often more necessary for intermediate and below.

I suddenly can't find my Messages screen. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I don't even remember how I got there before, but there was some kind of button or link that would take me right to my direct Messages. .Now I can't find any way whatsoever to get to my messages, and I don't know whether my messages are even there. I see the link to SEND a message to someone, so I just sent a message to myself and it's not showing up anywhere, nor did I get an email alert like I usually do. Has this function been deleted from the site or is it just down for repairs?

  Mine is still there, though I have had times when it has disappeared, too. I wonder if it's one of those wonderful electronic gremlins.

I love the forums and the community! With that said, I think some regularly active forum moderators would be really useful for keeping things updated and organized. They don't necessarily have to be employees; you could seek volunteers from your regular forum participants (like many other forums!).

Could also be useful to have clear conduct guidelines!

I hope @dominic_cheli or someone responsible for the future development of tonebase will check this space regularly.

In the archive section where there is a list of piano levels, it will be really helpful if all the recommended pieces are linked to appropriate page.

The piano levels in the archive section is great and have established some a good guideline for different levels of players. Please continue to keep them there and build on the pieces.

One of the benefits of being a member of tonebase is to get to learn online, at the same time being supportive of a great community and keeping tonebase alive.

P.S. I have just hopped over to the Guitar community of tonebase. They have the same level systems and all the recommended pieces have a link.

  Wow! I have been an inactive member for 1 year and then been a bit active and didn't know about the level system at TB until 2 weeks ago!. Not sure why on earth this would be put in the archive - instead of front and center. It would have ended a lot of needless discussions on what pieces or how difficult the repertoire is to play.
  
  Ben Laude has done an excellent job in classifying level 1,2, upto level 10 pieces. ! This certainly should not be in some obscure archive link !.
  
  For me after I saw the levels the pieces definitely look appropriate even at level 2 or level 3. I quickly realized I was way above my head in choosing what to play. e.g Playing Beethoven sonatas for a level 2, level 3 would be neither rewarding nor successful.
  
  Your idea of linking the pieces directly into the lesson is absolutely admirable.
  
  This way the online student can just say " Hey I took the quiz and am at level 2 - seems right. Let's look at some level 2 techinque stuff and complement with level 2 pieces and oh by the way here is the link to the lesson" now wouldn't that work wonderfully.
  
  You will be amused to read the lengthy discussions around pieces but magically no one seems to talk about the levelling system for about 20 pages of back and forth. Like " Go to the archive. There is a link there. Match the pieces according to level and check if there is a lesson and you are all set ' That would have been helpful right! Wow!
  
  I am deleting a lot of my comments as they would not be necessary at all had I seen the link to the levels.. :-)

Hello I have been enthusiastically following Sara Davis Buechner's School of Velocity, based around the 7 volumes of the Alberto Jonas book. Excerpts from the book are displayed during her presentation, but I am finding it difficult to locate where the excerpt is to be found in the original book. Knowing this would enable me to browse similar exercises.

Could we please have, for each excerpt shown, the Volume number and Page number of the Jonas original.

For example, there could be a list of time-codes, each with the reference to Jonas.

  I read of a student arriving at Nadia Boulanger’s studio in Paris only to find her throwing the books of a previous student out the window. That sounded like the School of Velocity.
