Dennis's Practice Diary
Hey gang! I'm a software engineer by day and lazy amateur pianist by night. Going to use this space to track my repertoire and look back on progress.
Focusing on right now:
- Beethoven op 2 no 2, 1st mvmt
- Planning on eventually learning all mvmts. I don't always have interest in all mvmts but this sonata is really fun. I think the 1st mvmt is underrated for how technically challenging it is to perform cleanly.
- Scriabin Sonata no 4
- First Scriabin piece for me. Feels super romantic at points. Loving the how different the sound is to stuff I normally play
- Chopin Mazurka op 33 no 4
- Real gem. A lot of nuance to bring out
Backburner:
- Granados Goyescas, no 1 Los Requiebros
- So many notes, takes actual effort to memorize. Lovely sound, can take interpretation anywhere imo
- Chopin Etudes op 10, no 1 & no2
- I'm never going to be good at them.
- Schumann op 12 Fantasiestucke
- Such a fun set. Quintessential Schumann to me
