Thank you for this workshop. I'm super-interested in this topic, and am excited that performance psychology is being featured on Tonebase. As a former coach of competitive gymnastics, I'm old enough to remember when Alison Arnold, PhD (www. headgamesworld.com) revolutionized the approach to coaching when she introduced the concept of sports-psychology at one of the national meetings. Her lecture radically changed my approach to teaching my gymnasts how to practice and compete.

I don't have a question, I'm merely interested in the similiarites/differences between the approach to competitive athletes versus performance musicians.

    • Michelle R That's fantastic! Super exciting to look for similarities in the approaches! I've a read a interesting book about that topic  called "Peak: Secrets from the New Science of Expertise", so I'm very eager to hear Noa's insights on that topic!

I hope this is a relevant question to the topic, please ignore if not!

Have there been any studies about how to avoid being overwhelmed when there is so much to learn?

I would love some advice on how to deal with feelings of overwhelm when trying to optimise my piano practice time.
