  • I had attended Dominic's first stream on Op. 118 1-3 and was eager and excited to be back for 4-6. Both streams were incredible! And though I'm not here to 'get my money's worth', the value of these streams far surpassed my yearly subscription fee. Some take-aways: (1) obviously, Dominic's playing, which is just incredible. Dominic: really great to be able to listen to you play each piece before you dive into the nitty-gritty. I don't what kind of mics or sound system are being used here, but please continue with that! The music coming through my earbuds was crystal clear, and that really adds to the experience. (2) The content was pitched at a perfect level for me. (3) The voicings pointed out and demonstrated by Dominic are not something I would have identified on my own. (4) In spite of Dominic's virtuosity and broad knowledge, he speaks to us as ordinary people. He inspires us without intimidating. That's rare. (5) I now hear these six pieces of Op. 118 with new ears, and that's very exciting. Finally, (6) I really marked up my score, meaning that what I took away from these streams will stay with me for the rest of my life. So: Thanks to all who made these live streams possible. Above all, thanks to Dominic. I know my sentiment is shared by many of us here.

  • Chad Langford  I am so happy you enjoyed my workshops on Brahms Op.118! It is some of the most beautiful and wonderfully personal music ever written. Thank you for your feedback on the technical nature of the livestream (microphones etc...) and I hope you have some fun checking out these voicings yourself! Most likely you will always be torn between which one to choose, but what a wonderful problem to have! This is music that will always intrigue and create a sense of wonder for our minds and souls, what a gift Brahms gave us!
