When is your favorite time of day to practice?

We all have very different practice schedules and I am wondering what time of day YOU enjoy practicing!

Different times of day can yield different results!

For example,

Some people prefer the morning for a FRESH brain in their work.

Some people prefer the evening  because there are less distractions, no emails incoming!

I find the best time for me to practice is in the morning.  I break up my practice into 45 minute sessions, taking  10-15 minute breaks.  I can normally put in 2 hours but aim for 3.  I like to have my practice all completed by noon.

Great that you can give so much time to piano. Do you do any sports time consuming activities ??

Tom .. mostly running and walking. Some Yoga (about 1 hour per day total) but my main focus is piano after all these years of having to balance a crazy

work schedule with practice now.   You?

Amazing to hear all of these. I think for me it is around 3am. That’s my favorite time, and then I would say the late afternoon, but only after a lot of espresso and if my schedule allows!!

Sounds like the perfect marriage of music & caffeine

I like to practice after I come home from school (afternoon) but I usually practice in the evening.

First thing in the morning is best for me. My cousin suggested

"just practice for 7minutes " and of course those 7 minutes always end up as an hour

As a student enrolled in, well, school, I never really practice in the morning. I heard it's much better, but I prefer at night or something, when all my friends have gone to sleep, so I'm not 1. distracted or 2. looking to talk to them.

Now, it's a bit of a problem- i have friends everywhere. Different timezones. Weird sleep schedules. Yup. But it's fine, I'm still focusing.

When the brain is fresh, that is the key point.  Morning is usually better but after a nap it is just as good in the late afternoon.
