I’d like to play the Bach French Suite #2 (unless I can think of something spookier!)

Gail Starr I’ve never played any of the suites. I’m still slogging my way through the Well Tempered Clavier —- “AND loving it”, as Maxwell Smart used to say.  I love the Suites and Partitas, may I only live long enough to assay them someday.!

Peter Golemme Maxwell Smart!  Love it!  I'm kind of bopping back and forth...did 2 P&F's last Spring and doing the Suite this autumn.  Too much gorgeous stuff to keep to one type of masterwork.

I would like to play something too. I don’t know what will be ready yet but will choose something when closer to the date.

rebecca LAM i played this before when I just finished learning it. It completely fell apart when I have to perform it. I have been working on it to polish it. hopefully, I can overcome my performance anxiety and just learn to enjoy playing for others. I will play live. I am both nervous and excited.

So sorry, friends - I now have to sing at the wedding of a dear friend from church; the wedding is on 10/26 at 2 pm EST with 12:45 pm call time for the choristers. So, I'll unfortunately have to skip this Community Concert, but I promise I will play the piece at the next one that I'll be able to attend!

I’d like to play Marc-André Hamelin’s arrangement of “Tico-Tico no Fubá” by Zequinha de Abreu (3 minutes).

Tammy yeah, well, thanks, but you haven’t heard me play it yet. It’s a treacherous high-wire act; no idea why I’m doing this to myself. 😆

Alexander Weymann Alexander, speaking for myself, I appeciate that you would take a risk like this and share the results with us.  I believe that challenging oneself in this manner introduces some fear-induced adrenaline into one's performance which can sharpen your perceptions and enhance the excitement and expressiveness of a performance.  In the hands of a musician as accomplished as yourself this, the results are sure to be most interesting and exciting!

And, as is true for everyone performing here, if that tightrope should snap for any reason, we;'ve got you covered with a safety net of supportiveness.

Peter Golemme that is the sweetest and kindest message I have read in a long time on what is already a very supportive platform. Thank you; now I really have no excuse anymore and will definitely play it! 😁

Sorry, but I wouldn’t manage making recording before the concert. My battery 🔋 is low, and I just don’t have enough energy, to be honest.

Hi! I would like to prepare recording for the Halloween concert. I will play Chopin Prelude op.28-15 ‘Raindrop’.

Sachi isn’t there this apocryphal story about Chopin composing it after a nightmare with raindrops relentlessly dropping on his chest and resonating darkly (or something like that)?

Alexander Weymann Hi! Thank you for your comment. Yes, I’m a huge fan of Chopin. I learned anecdotes from George Sand and other musicologists’ writings. Her children and sick Chopin’s Winter in Valldemossa on Majorca, and scenes behind the time Chopin composed it. Spooky it is😉
