Does it have to be classical? I saw Jon Batiste in LA in January. He was amazing! Last classical concert I saw was the Lafayette String Quartet in Victoria. These women are amazing and unfortunately that was their final concert of a long career.
Love this question!

Henry Kramer in a chamber music recital at the Vancouver Academy of Music. Stunning! The audience rose to their feet on the last chord!

Tonight I attended the Toronto Symphony Orchestra Jan Lisiecki plays Chopin. I enjoyed it, only wish his part of the program was a bit longer.

I just saw Kemal Gekic play a Chopin/Liszt/original composition program, and it was amazing. I really like his style and how he interpreted the pieces. However (for the sake of honorable mentions) right before that, I saw Martha Argerich play in the opening recital for the 11th International Bösendorfer and Yamaha USASU Competition in early January. Hands down the most incredible experience of my life—bonus points because after the concert I went backstage and got to meet her, and quickly introduced myself and thanked her for being such an incredible inspiration to me!

Trifonov performing Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the SF Symphony, with Salonen conducting. It was phenomenal!

András Schiff at Lisinski Concert Hall, Zagreb! Sublime!
Perhaps his approach is already well-known, but it was new to us. He no longer communicates is program repertoire in advance. Rather, he announces his pieces from the stage, with brief commentary and anecdotes, in terse but elegant commentary. As he explains in a statement in the program book, the practice of selecting repertoire 1-2 years in advance is personally oppressive and tempts performers (himself anyway) into a static and constricted approach to performance. We loved it. The program included Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert. Did I mention ... sublime?! -
I think it was St John's Passion with period instruments at Christ's Church, Indianapolis. 2 years ago? There isn't much where I live and driving to Indy without "supervision" is a bit scary. Lol

Tiffany Poon pianist at Herbst Theater in San Francisco. She played Schumann's Kinderszenen. As well as Children's Corner and some from WTC 1. Versatile and lovely.

Technically, it was our Piano Ensemble Festival put on by our Music Teachers Association on February 22. However on February 16, I heard the fine young Ukrainian pianist, Ilia Ovcharenko, at Shenandoah University.
