Hey tonebuddies! 👋

As we wrap up 2025, we want to celebrate you — the amazing musicians who make our Guitar, Piano, Violin, and Cello communities so inspiring. Join us for our End-of-Year Community Concert, a special evening where we’ll showcase performances from across all tonebase platforms! 🌍✨

🎵 What it is

A relaxed, joyful online concert featuring selected performances from our community members. Whether you’ve mastered a piece this year, polished an old favorite, or discovered a new musical voice — this is your chance to share it with the tonebase family!

🎬 How it works

We’ll select 8-10 participants across all platforms to perform in a live, online concert.
Each participant will prepare one piece of up to 5 minutes.

🗓️ Dates

  • Concert date: Sunday, December 29, 9am PST

Hello, I think I know the answer to my question, but just want to make sure....do we submit a video of our performance  as done in the past challenges, or are we actually performing live? Thanks so much!

I'll be traveling on the 29th so I can't perform live, but I'd be interested in submitting a recording of Chopin's Ballade No. 3. It's a bit longer than 5 minutes (around 8 minutes). Let me know if this is possible.

    Hi,

I am away during the Christmas period in the UK and I have no piano there so If it is possible I can submit a video recording of this piece  Chen Peixun, Thunder in Drought Season less than  4 minutes long.

Hi, I recently asked a question about this event, but I don't seem to be getting an answer to my question. Can I submit a video recording rather than do a live performance?

Hi Mary, what were you thinking of playing?  just curious as a fellow participant.

That's a really nice piece Mary.  I don't hear it played very often as it's somewhat overshadowed by its sibling, the much loved No. 2. I hope we'll get to hear it -- if not here then the New Year concert in January!

When will we know who is selected to play? I submitted my name some time ago and haven't heard back one way or the other.  Thanks --

Hey Chuck that's a really demanding and rewarding piece.  I'll look forward to hearing it either here or at the January Community Concert.  BTW are you aware of our Bach thread.  Many of us post there, sometimes with finished pieces, some times with works in process.  You might want to check it out, and if you've got video of yourself playing it, perhaps you'd like to post it and get some feedback!

thank you so much thao. I appreciate your feedback on my little improvs.  I never know for sure how they are going to come out.

Yihan was truly spectacular again, the star of the show, with yet another very large and difficult piece in his repertoire.
