Kim's Practice Diary - Chopin's Preludes Op.28
This is my first practice diary on Tonebase. After the initial quiz (level 6) and some trial and erroring across the site between levels 4 and 9, I've settled on Chopin's Preludes Op.28. Offering a nice progression from level 5 all the way up to level 10, it is a great way for me to get back into playing piano after 20+ years. I've played some, but not all, in the past, so I hope it triggers some muscle memories.
As I know myself to not carve out nearly enough time to play, I'm hoping that creating a practice diary here will help keep the pace up.
I'm playing on a Casio Privia PX-850, recorded through MIDI out with Modartt Pianoteq 8, using the Pleyel (1926) model from the KIViR project. After all, Chopin even altered the dedication of the Preludes later on to read 'Mr Camille Pleyel par son ami', so what better instrument to play than the pianos he loved. According to a number of sources, these Pleyel pianos were tuned to A446, and that is the tuning I'm using for this project.

Aaaand... I've started with No.4. After some score reading, and playing various fragments a couple of times, I've uploaded the first end-to-end playthrough: https://on.soundcloud.com/Mhs4d.
Lots of things I'm not happy with yet obviously: rhythm, voicing, finding the right keys to begin with, but I still wanted to share it as a sort of 'baseline' for my further study. I'm adding the playlist to the opening post, so I can upload new recordings to it as I progress.
