Here is my final take on Grieg's "Gade" opus 57-2. Slightly faster, but I doubt I could ever get it to Allegro. I like it at this tempo, but maybe that is because I am used to hearing it this way!
"Gade" is not a descriptive name, but the name of one of Grieg's teachers, Niels Gade, a Danish composer and teacher. The piece is a dialog between two voices, so it is easy to imagine a conversation between teacher and student!

When is the deadline for this? I really wanted to do it, but within 24 hours of my first practice, my family and I got Covid. 24 hours later, my mum was on oxygen, steroids and antiviral drip in hospital. She is ok now - just got back home. It鈥檚 been a very dramatic few days. So I didn鈥檛 practice until today thinking it will be fine. But sadly, when I tried to record, I just didn鈥檛 know the piece well enough to finish my recording. Here鈥檚 my little bit of Grieg Puck. If there is another 24 hours remaining, I will do my best to record it properly. Here in Australia, it鈥檚 hard to know. By the way, the first sound you hear is not the moaning of some tortured soul. It鈥檚 my 17 year old son playing a computer game!
