Not sure if this is quite relevant under composition but.... I heard this AMAZING piece last week, and it's literally making me want to play piano again.

Unfortunately, the only sheet music I can find is ridiculously expensive, as it's not a well known piece. So, I thought I'd use this as a chance to practice my transcription skills (as it is quite a minimalist piece anyway).

I had a quick search on Tonebase but couldn't find any lessons or forum posts about how to transcribe piano music, despite it being (I guess) a pretty useful skill, especially for training your ears...

So expert transcribers out there - any tips for a newbie? Or any resources, books, videos you can point me to to help me get started?

Thanks!

ps if anybody is interested, the piece I'm looking to transcribe is 'Prelude XVII (17)' by William Duckworth, part of his work 'The Time Curve Preludes'. Fab performance of it by Andrew Lee here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf7FEu_wK3s
