Exciting new release! Jeremy Siskind has released his latest book "Jazz Piano Fundamentals"!
Many of us think that you can either play jazz or you can't, but pianist-educator Jeremy Siskind has shared key methods for improving as an improviser and accompanist in his new book, Jazz Piano Fundamentals (Book 2). In the book, Siskind shares important concepts for pianists with some jazz experience and shares the process for how to create your own self-guided and self-generating practice sessions.

Kapustin Etude difficulties
(1) Etude No.2 Reverie
I am not sure whether the minims and dotted minims with tied notes need to be used middle pedal or not.(2) Etude No.6 Pastoral
(i) I would like to know whether the tied chords on the left hand part need to be used middle pedal or not.
(ii) I would like to know whether the dotted quavers need to be used fingering pedal or not. Also, do I need to use right pedal when performing this passage?(3) Etude No.7 Intermezzo
(i) I am not sure how to count the rhythm of triplets with six notes semiquavers.
(ii) The circled part is very difficult for me to control the rhythm accurately with accent and sometimes I cannot coordinate well with both hands.(4) Etude No.8 Finale

Thank you, Jeremy! I enjoyed this very much! Your comparison - right at the start - of making Jazz and learning a new language, illustrated your point clearly. Yay for "la biblioteca"! In addition to teaching Jazz, you taught me (reminded me since I did learn years ago) Spanish words. :D

The "Boogie Woogie" playing towards the end was very fun!
I have seen Jeremy's lessons on Tonebase before and I always enjoy his teaching and his thoughtfulness. His enthusiastic pizzazz at the piano is sheer delight!
